Grayling opens in Shanghai, its first office in mainland China

Posted 18.01.2012

Grayling has announced the opening of an office in Shanghai in response to growing demand from existing and prospective clients in the region. This will be the first for the company in mainland China and brings the company’s Asia Pacific network of wholly-owned offices to four, alongside existing Grayling hubs in: Singapore, Hong Kong and Thailand. In addition the company has an extensive network of affiliates in the region.

The Grayling Shanghai office will provide strategic communications services, full service public relations and Grayling’s hallmark media training. The office will be led by Director, Harriet Gaywood who will report into Guy Taylor, Grayling CEO Asia-Pac & Middle East. Harriet has over 15 years’ experience in PR and public affairs experience most recently with MSL China where she was Head of the Shanghai Office. From the new Shanghai office, located in the downtown Jingan District, Grayling is ideally-placed to manage strategic client communications programmes across China; including cities of Beijing, Chengdu, Guangzhou or further afield in the region.

Commenting on the announcement, Michael Murphy, Global CEO, said:
“The opening of our first office in mainland China is an important and strategic step for Grayling. We have the strongest network of wholly-owned offices of any PR company in Europe, and a growing presence in North America and The Middle East. One of our key priorities is to expand our presence in Asia Pacific and this move is the first of a number of steps we are taking to achieve this ambition.”
