Grayling promoted two seasoned leaders today in the CEE and DACH regions. Jan Simunek, CEO for Central & Eastern Europe, Russia & CIS (CEE) region, is now assuming the CEO role for Grayling’s Germany, Austria and Switzerland (DACH) region in addition to his current responsibilities. Sigrid Krupica, former managing director of Grayling’s world-class Austria operation located in Vienna, is promoted to CEO, Grayling Austria.
Simunek has been with Grayling for almost two decades, holding country management positions in the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Romania, Bulgaria and Turkey, before assuming regional operational responsibility for Grayling’s network across CEE. Last year Simunek was also promoted onto Grayling’s International Board.
“Jan is a strong operational leader and I know that he will lead Grayling’s DACH region with all the same tenacity he has shown in growing our CEE region,” said Grayling Global CEO, Pete Pedersen.
Grayling was the first international agency into CEE, more than 20 years ago. Grayling’s reputation in CEE for delivering strong multi-market campaigns is unrivaled and earned the firm recognition this year as a Sabre Awards finalist for Eastern European Consultancy of the Year.
Krupica was the managing director in Grayling Austria for almost five years before being appointed CEO and has been instrumental in expanding the success of the operation. Prior to Grayling, she held leadership positions at Trimedia and IKP in Austria, specializing in consumer brands and lifestyle. In her new role, Krupica will report directly to Simunek.
“I am absolutely confident that Sigrid and her strong management bench in Vienna will not only maintain our market-leading position, but continue to grow and innovate,” said Pedersen.
