Leading international PR agency, Grayling, has continued to grow its expanding team in the Midlands –following a series of high profile new business wins in the region.
The third appointment in four months, sees established Account Manager, Penny Thorp, joining with five years’ experience in the B2B and B2C PR sector, offering a particular specialism in Public Sector work. Previous clients include Students Communication for BBC TV Licensing, Warwick Music Group and Birmingham City Council. Penny will work across Grayling’s B2B and B2C client base on a number of high-profile clients such as Marks & Spencer, Carillion and HSBC.
Penny is currently Chair of the mentoring committee of BPS Birmingham Future and is responsible for looking after the day-to-day operations of two mentoring schemes; Future Mentoring and Aspire Mentoring. During her studies at Southampton Solent University, Penny received a 5by5 award for her work on a cycle safety awareness campaign for Hampshire Fire and Rescue.
Penny said; “I’m extremely excited to join Grayling Midlands. Grayling’s global presence within the PR industry and high-profile clients, married with the local approach and intelligence is vital for effective campaigns. The Grayling team here in the Midlands has worked on many impressive campaigns, and the chance to learn and develop was at the heart of my decision to join the company.”
Craig Ling, who leads Grayling Midlands alongside Hayley Longdin, said; “We’re delighted to have Penny join the team in the Midlands, with her background in the B2B sector - she is a great addition to our expanding team.
“Birmingham’s economic buoyance has not gone unnoticed recently, meaning there is huge potential in the region which Grayling is well positioned to support, having had a foothold in the region for over 40 years.”
