Grayling has hired Jonathan Sanchez as Creative & Strategic Director for Continental Europe. Sanchez, who is British and has over 20 years’ experience across three continents (Europe, Americas, Asia), will be based in Germany where Grayling sees the most significant Consumer Brands opportunities emerging in the coming years.
Grayling has built a strong reputation for creative work in Europe in recent years, winning Effie, Golden Drum, Muse Creative and SABRE awards. The appointment of Sanchez is a further investment into delivering the most impactful, fully integrated creative campaigns for clients.
Jonathan has previously held leadership roles in global marketing communications agencies (Havas predecessor Euro RSCG, JWT Worldwide and Edelman), board positions in global technology companies and leadership roles in global FMCG businesses (including Unilever). He is also a specialist in sustainability communications. In his new role at Grayling, he will report to both Jan Simunek, CEO of Grayling Continental Europe, and Frank Schönrock, CEO of Grayling Germany.
Jonathan Sanchez said: “I am very excited to come to Germany to carve out a new role and have the chance to be at the forefront of change and growth in Europe during these interesting times. I’m passionate about winning business with powerful ideas that can start movements, be a force for good or simply help raise the profile of those that choose to work with us – leading organisations through structural and ideological change, creating groundswell and public opinion, and maximising stakeholder return.”
Jan Simunek, CEO of Grayling Continental Europe, said: “Jonathan will lead the creative potential of Grayling into a new dimension and strengthen our strategic offer to multi-country clients across all sectors and disciplines. He has worked in a number of impressive senior communication and creative roles both in agencies and inside big corporations across the globe. I am convinced that we and our clients will benefit from his broad international experience and that he will have a great impact on new business.”
