Grayling Russia recently brought together 30 PR, marketing and digital specialists from key industries for an insightful talk about the role of search engines in online brand reputation. The morning session was entitled Search Engines Never Forget: Crisis Communication and Brand Resilience in the Online Age and was hosted by Ben Petter, Grayling’s Director of International Client Services, and Alex Judd, Business Director for GCore, Grayling’s proprietary tool that measures brand reputation online.
“While brands invest millions to protect and enhance their reputations, there is one major area where many organisations fall down: search engines. Every brand has a presence on search engines, whether they like it or not, and thousands of people are searching for them every month. Yet the results that appear can be extremely damaging, with issues old and new appearing prominently. Using our proprietary search reputation technology, GCore, we’ve found that even some of the world’s biggest companies suffer in search. Now we’ve turned our attention to the landscape for Russian business, analysing the search landscape of the top MOEX Index companies in both Yandex and Google,” says Alex Judd.
The event highlighted the impact search engines can have on a business, as well as key challenges facing multinationals in Russia and abroad, and the top tools and tips to help influence search results to protect and enhance your reputation.
